The winner of last years Art Basel BMW Art Journey’s prize is participating in the following talks and events in Hong Kong during the fair.

On Wednesday 22 March between 17.00 - 18.00 there will be an artist talk between Abigail Reynolds and 2015 winner of the BMW Art Journey, Samson Young, the conversation will be moderated by András Szántó and take place in the BMW Lounge.

Under the Influence: Books that Inspire Artists is a travelling library which features one hundred titles, from across multiple genres, chosen by artists at the invitation of Asia Art Archive. AAA asked participants to share personal stories related to their selections, thereby providing singular perspectives on these foundational texts. ‘Under the Influence’ debuts in AAA’s booth and on Thursday 23 March between 16.00 - 17.00 Reynolds will be discussing her selected book - Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban - and how reading informs artistic practice with Doretta Lau from AAA, the event takes place on the Asia Art Archive booth.

Art Basel’s 2017 program of Conversations and Salons offers a wide range of panels featuring artists, gallerists, art historians, writers, curators, museum directors and collectors from around the globe. On Friday, March 24, Alan Lau, Co-chair, Tate’s Asia Pacific Acquisition Committee, Co-chair, Para Site and Board Member, M+, West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong will moderate a discussion on ‘The Language(s) We Speak: Art as Communication’ with artists Michael Craig-Martin, Su Mei-Tse and Abigail Reynolds. Join the discussion in the lounge between 13.00 - 14.00.
